2016 Veterans Day Celebration
Posted on 11/09/2016
Our 5th graders participated in Leonard’s Veterans Day Celebration this morning in the cafeteria. This annual tradition includes breakfast and interviews with a variety of military Veterans, all of whom are passionate about spreading the message of patriotism and leadership. Several risk-taking students were selected by their peers to read heartfelt speeches they created in class that express our appreciation and admiration for our Veterans. The entire school was able to share their gratitude with our guests by hanging up creative art displays around the cafeteria and throughout the hallways. The 5th graders gain much more through this meaningful learning experience than they ever could reading a textbook, and we are proud to honor our nation’s heroes in this special way!
